The Powerline 4 charger comes with 4 x 2500mAh MaxE batteries that are precharged and ready to use. MaxE batteries from Ansmann are low self-discharge batteries which means once charged they retain their charge for over a year in storage. Fully charged MaxE batteries are always ready when you are.
